We are aware that the media has been dominated by Coronavirus (Covid-19) over the past few weeks; the impact is being seen by our customers, their supply chain and travel at a global scale, and our thoughts are with all who are affected.
We have a duty to ensure that we mitigate any risk that global and regional gatherings may pose, and are taking that responsibility seriously. We are continually monitoring the situation and taking a considered and fact- based approach. At this time, and in-line with advice from the World Health Organization (WHO) and British government, our plans to host World Procurement Week remain unchanged.
Based on their assessments, cancelling exhibitions in Europe, in the Americas, in the Middle East and in major parts of Asia is currently premature, and WHO advises against the application of any restrictions on international traffic. Clear guidance is given on health measures before, during, and after events take place. There will be no representatives attending from restricted travel regions.
We will continue to monitor the situation and proactively update our outreach channels of any changes to this stance, and we will ensure that all suitable precautions and health measures are taken in the run up to, and during the congress to maintain the safety of our delegates.
